In my last article, “Understanding the BLM Fraud,” I discussed how the known data shows the primary BLM argument is untrue. Historically since the early 2000’s and over millions of arrests, there is no disparity in the number of deaths of blacks during arrest than whites. The question then becomes: how did such an apparently large segment of the American people become so inculcated with and infuriated by a belief that has no basis in fact? Then the second question becomes: For what purpose have those responsible propagated such a fraud on the American people?” There are no two more important questions in the country today.
I will deal with the first question in this article, that is, how has a false premise become so widely and deeply believed by so many when it has no basis in fact in the first instance? The answer quite simply is that certain powerful and influential elements of our society have systematically over a long period of time propagated this falsehood as fact until it has been believed. Those influential persons and elements are, as Barak Obama identified them, the socialists, the communists, the structural feminists, the radicals. The main-stream news media is fully behind this hoax. So, let’s look as the history of how this happened.
Barak Obama became President in 2008. His first action to create the narrative in the minds of the public was the “beer-gate summit.” He made a huge show out of an incident where a police officer arrested a possible burglar a black professor who was actually entering his own house. In fact, the officer was responding to a 911 call from a neighbor who saw the black professor trying to force open the door to his house “because it was stuck” and erroneously, but understandably, believed a breaking and entering was taking place. Even though no one was hurt in this incident, Obama made no bones about the fact that he was highlighting the incident to shine a light on alleged prejudice of the police toward blacks. He declared to the nation that there has been a long history of disproportionate mistreatment of blacks by police in this country. This was a huge checkered flag waved by Obama to the press to sensationalize any case in the future of mistreatment of blacks by the authorities. Anything Obama said, the first black President, had to be true.
They got their wish in the odd form of a case of a volunteer neighborhood watchman and self-identified Hispanic , George Zimmerman, who, in 2012, shot and killed unarmed 17-year-old, Trayvon Martin, in Sanford, Florida. Zimmerman was a neighborhood patrolman because there had been crime in the neighborhood. Martin, who was from Miami Springs and his father were visiting his father’s girlfriend, who lived in a neighboring community. Zimmerman observed Martin walking through the neighborhood in a strange manner by going through the back yards rather than on the sidewalk or in the street. He called police and was asked to stay in place until police arrived. A struggle broke out while Zimmerman was still on the phone with police and cries for help were heard on the recording. A single shot was fired. On arrival police found Treyvon Martin face down in the grass and dead from a gunshot wound to the chest. The press immediately sensationalized this case as a killing of an unarmed black man because of racial profiling.
The media regularly used a younger picture of Martin showing him as a child when, in fact, at the time of the shooting he was inches taller and in much better physical shape that Zimmerman. The media relentlessly pushed the idea that it was a case of racial profiling and an unprovoked racially motivated killing of an unarmed black boy who was simply walking home. Obama claimed that Trayvon Martin could have been his own son, indicating he sympathized with the defenders of Martin and believed it was an unjustified killing of an innocent young man. Zimmerman himself believed Obama was inflaming racial tensions over the case. "He by far overstretched, overreached, even broke the law in certain aspects to where you have an innocent American being prosecuted by the federal government," Zimmerman said referring to Obama.
The facts, buried by the press, showed beyond any reasonable doubt a different story. Zimmerman claimed, that while he was looking to see where Martin had gone Martin circled back around and confronted him. Martin said, “You got a problem homie?” To which George responded , “No”. Martin then said, “Well you got a problem now!” and then, unprovoked, slugged Zimmerman in the face, knocking him to the ground. Martin proceeded to jump on him and slam his head against the ground. During this vicious attack, Zimmerman was able to draw his gun and shoot Martin in the chest.
Photos taken by the police showed Zimmerman had a swollen bleeding nose as if he had been punched in the face and bleeding cuts on the back of his head and he had grass on the back of his shirt. This physical evidence alone, in conjunction with the phone call to the police, was sufficient to exonerate Zimmerman; but there was more. A neighbor witnessed Zimmerman on the ground with Martin on top of him repeatedly pummeling him. This direct eyewitness testimony corroborated Zimmerman’s story exactly. The shooting happened moments later, when the witness had run inside his house to call the police.
Because of the media uproar a special prosecutor was appointed, who charged Zimmerman with second degree murder in the face of absolutely zero evidence let alone beyond a reasonable doubt of guilt. After a full trial, Zimmerman was acquitted. The Black Lives Matter movement was created during the Zimmerman-Travon Martin media event although it would not emerge publicly until 2014 when Another unarmed black man, Michael Brown, was shot and killed in Ferguson, Missouri on August 9th of that year.
The Michael Brown shooting by Ferguson, Missouri police officer Darren Wilson was transformed into a media circus like the Zimmerman-Martin fiasco. The man with Brown at the time of the shooting, , claimed Brown had his hands up and was saying “I don’t have a gun don’t shoot”, at the time of the shooting. The media reported this as an unjustified shooting. Protests, riots and looting broke out. The group Black Lives Matter made its first organized protest three weeks after the shooting using the phrase “hands up, don’t shoot,” with their hands up in the air. Numerous athletes and CNN anchors simulated the hands up don’t shoot gesture. Obama described the shooting of Michael Brown as “heartbreaking.” Again, implying his sympathy for Michael Brown, not the police officer who was defending himself.
It turned out this entire scenario was a complete fraud. In fact, Michael Brown was caught on camera robbing a convenience store and assaulting the clerk just minutes before the shooting. When he was stopped on the street by Wilson, Brown struggled with Wilson and tried to grab Wilson’s gun. Then, after running away, he did not put his hands up and or ask the office not to shoot. Rather, he had turned and charged back at Wilson when Wilson shot and killed him.
A grand jury found no basis to charge officer Wilson with a crime. At Obama’s request, the Justice Department conducted a special investigation of the shooting. They found that some of the witnesses to the alleged hands up scenario, including Browns accomplice who created the scam in the first place, recanted their statements admitting they were lying and that other witnesses to hands up scenario’s stories changed over time and were found not credible. Conversely they found that all credible witnesses to the incident said Brown did not put his hands up and was at least moving toward Wilson, if not charging him at the time of the shooting. Regardless of the truth, BLM had made a huge advance. It found that it could enrage the public, mobilize mass demonstrations, create riots, looting and stun the police into inaction because of the fear of making it worse by using force to quell the violence. The precedent had been set. The facts don’t matter, claims of racism over police shootings work.
There are over a million arrests per year in the United States. The number of deaths is a tiny fraction of that number and the number of deaths of individuals who did not possess a weapon at the time is tiny. If there were a huge number of excessive force cases particularly against blacks, the news media and Obama would not have had to highlight cases of alleged brutality which upon examination turned out to be justified uses of force.
In 2016, Obama said about shootings of blacks by police:
“These are not isolated incidents. They are systematic of a broader set of disparities that exist in our criminal justice system.... When incidents like this occur, there’s a big chunk of our fellow citizenry that feels that because of the color of their skin, they are not being treated the same. Data shows that black folks are more vulnerable to these kinds of incidents,” and, “This isn’t a matter of us comparing the value of lives. This is recognizing that there’s a particular burden that is being placed on a group of our fellow citizens and we should care about that,” he said. “We can’t dismiss it. We can’t dismiss it.”[1]
These were not his only pronouncements on the subject. Obama’s statements about police discrimination were directly contrary to definitive proof he had in his possession that there was no disparity in the use of deadly force by the police between whites and blacks in the united States; yet he routinely and in his refined, measured yet forceful and authoritative style hammered home a narrative that blacks were being singled out massive use of force by local authorities based on racial discrimination.
Obama could have discussed police reform to decrease the use of force against all Americans, which would have been defensible, but he specifically denied and denigrated that view. As the above example quote shows, Obama insisted that blacks were being disproportionately discriminated against. As the President of the United States, and particularly as the first black President, his words carried enormous weight on the issue of discrimination particularly in the black community, among the educators and the elite. They were an indictment of all local law enforcement in the country and a rallying cry to resist authorities.
On average there are more than 10,000,000 arrests per year in the United States. With that many arrests, abuses will happen. With this many arrests, however, it was inevitable that the left would find truly abusive arrest related killings. Obama and the media had created the narrative, they only had to wait for the case to use as the match to light the powder keg of unrest and hostility they had created. It came in the form of George Floyd. The Floyd video initially released was edited to eliminate the several minutes of Floyd fighting with the officers and saying he couldn’t breathe before he was restrained on the ground.[2] In this footage the offices were remarkably restrained.
But, Cherry picking cases does not create an indictment of the entire system. Would we have had a much better outcome and a chance for real reform if Obama had not characterized police excesses as a racially motivated war against blacks, but rather he had admitted the truth that that there is no police war on blacks but that police excess is an issue of concern to all people of all races and argued for reasonable police reform for everyone?
The extent of the cooperation of Obama, the Democratic Party and its wealthy supporters in the creation and organization of the Black Lives Matter Movement is not directly known. However, such direct evidence is not necessary to know that they did and are acting in concert against the American Justice system. Courts recognize that the existence of an actual agreement of conspirators can rarely be proved by direct evidence and universally recognize that a conspiracy can be inferred from the circumstances including the actions of the participants in an organized and unified way to achieve an improper or illegal goal.
What we do know is that Obama consistently hammered home the black lives matter central thesis during his presidency as if it were true even though the actual facts clearly showed otherwise. We also know the BLM organization was created and organized during this period of time and was infused with millions of dollars from unknown sources. We do know this movement is headed by admitted communist agitators allied with the Chinese Communist Party. Also, during this time George Soros, a close Obama ally, and others were busy funding radical leftist prosecutors’ campaigns in major Democrat controlled American cities. These Prosecutors, we now know will not prosecute riot related crimes by BLM agitators while allowing violence against police to go unchecked and who will even prosecute those who try to defend themselves.
We are not privy to the actual agreements among these dispirit actors, but we do know the individual actions of all these entities and individuals came together as one to foment hatred, distrust for the police, and to create an environment where violent agitation could go unchecked by authorities. This leads to the reasonable assumption that there is a concerted, organized and intentional effort to undermine and eventually overthrow local police in America, the justice system of which they are a part and ultimately the individual freedoms they protect.
